The General Justice Lawyer, June 5

Leading South Korean game companies, including Nexon, Netmarble, NCSoft, and Pearl Abyss, are participating in this year’s Summer Game Fest (SGF), which commenced on June 6, 2025.  These developers are presenting new titles aimed at the global market, particularly focusing on console gaming to appeal to North American audiences.

Pearl Abyss is showcasing its highly anticipated open-world action game, Crimson Desert, scheduled for release later this year.  The game has been in development for over seven years and is noted for its high-end graphics and dynamic combat system, utilizing Pearl Abyss’s proprietary game engine.  Crimson Desert has already garnered positive attention from international players for its cinematic presentation and detailed gameplay.

Netmarble is introducing two new titles: The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin and Mongil: Star Dive, both set to launch in the second half of 2025.  These games represent Netmarble’s strategy to tap into the global gaming market by offering content that resonates with international audiences.

In a notable crossover between K-pop and gaming, Jennie from Blackpink has made her mark by having her single “ZEN” selected as the official soundtrack for the Summer Game Fest 2025 trailer.  This collaboration highlights the increasing convergence of Korean pop culture and the gaming industry, showcasing the versatility and global appeal of K-pop artists.
